MAMAKATING – A 44-year-old Youngsville man was killed Wednesday evening when his 2019 Nissan ran into the rear of a Kenworth tractor-trailer on Route 17 near exit 116 in the Town of Mamakating.
State Police identified the victim as Jason Stanton.
Police said he was driving west when for unknown reasons, he ran into the rear of the truck that was also traveling west.
Both vehicles were in the right lane at the time of the collision.
The driver of the truck, James Bixby, 51, of Lindley, NY was not injured.
Stanton was transported to Garnet Health Medical Center in the Town of Wallkill where h died from his injuries.
The investigation is continuing.
