POUGHKEEPSIE – The Dutchess County Industrial Development Agency Tuesday approved financial incentives so that environmental remediation and redevelopment of the former Dutton lumberyard site along the Hudson Riverfront in Poughkeepsie can move forward.

The IDA granted an exemption on mortgage recording tax and sales tax on building materials for the $29.7 million project at 10 O’Neill Court, 20 O’Neill Court and 70 Dutchess Landing Road.

Redevelopment plans call for construction of commercial and residential buildings consisting of 4,000 square feet of commercial space and 84 market-rate residential units.

IDA Board Vice Chairman Mark Doyle said the project will be a plus for the area.

“I’m sure there is great public interest, particularly in the public access component of it and the fact that is right on the riverside is critically important to the progress in Poughkeepsie and the county, in fact,” he said.

The project, by One Dutchess Phase 3, LLC will include a bike path to the Dutchess Rail Trail and the Walkway Over the Hudson.
