NEW CITY – Rockland County law enforcement gathered outside the county courthouse in New City on Sunday to honor the memories of those officers who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty.

NYPD Officer Robert Reidy’s name was added to the memorial monument. He served for 22 years and was a first responder on September 11.

The lifelong Rockland resident died on November 19, 2019, after a long battle with cancer he suffered from his response to the World Trade Center after the terrorist attack.

First Deputy NYPD Police Commissioner Edward Caban spoke at the ceremony about the courage Reidy exhibited during his health ordeal.
