POUGHKEEPSIE – The City of Poughkeepsie Police Department’s Police Athletic League (PAL) is offering a free day of fishing for resident families on Sunday, May 22, at Morgan Lake in the city.

Police Lieutenant Mel Clausen, the PAL President said Sunday’s event is taking place between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. with the assistance of several corporate sponsors including Stewart’s Baroni Scrap Metal, and the law firm of Corbally, Gartland, and Rappleyea.

The first fifty children that arrive in need of a fishing pole to try and catch the stocked fish, will be provided one at no charge.  The young anglers will be allowed to keep their new rod and reel.

The lake has been stocked with fish by members of the Dutchess County Federation of Sportsmen’s Clubs.
