LEWISBORO – This week Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney (NY-18) announced that the Lewisboro water supply will be cleaned up using federal funding secured by the Congressman.

Maloney is delivering $1.8 million dollars to clean up the Lewisboro water supply and remove PFAS chemical contaminants.

“Dangerous chemicals have no place in our drinking water, here in Lewisboro or anywhere across the country. Today, we are taking a major step forward to ensure residents in Lewisboro have clean water now, and for generations to come, by delivering $1.8 million to remove PFAS contaminants from the water supply,” said Maloney on Monday.

“The success of this project and this process can be attributed to the collaboration of all levels of government. We had local, county, state, and federal all working together. And this is how government should work,” said Tony Gonçalves, Lewisboro Supervisor. The beneficiaries will be the people here in the Oakridge Water District who rely on this water plant for clean, safe drinking water and I’m looking forward to getting this project off the ground.
