TOWN OF WALLKILL – Police from multiple agencies are investigating a possible double-homicide in a Route 211 restaurant parking lot after receiving multiple reports of “shots fired” late Sunday night.

Town of Wallkill Police responded to the area of Buffalo Wild Wings on Route 211 after receiving reports of “shots fired” in the area at approximately 10:34 p.m.  Officers from the New York State Police, City of Middletown, and the Orange County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area to assist.

One witness told police that a possible suspect, described as a black male, wearing black clothing, fled the scene in a Dodge Charger.  State Troopers pulled the described vehicle over moments later on Route 17 East.  After a brief investigation, it was determined that the driver was not a suspect but rather an eyewitness to the incident.

Arriving police units at Buffalo Wild Wings radioed in that two victims were on the ground and asked for supervisors to respond to the scene for what was described as a “double homicide” over their police radios.

A short time later, a dispatcher advised all units that there was no longer a search for a suspect, and EMS units were cleared to respond to the scene for the victims.

The investigation is ongoing and related information will be published when it has been received and verified.
