Sheriff increases patrols in advance of potential protests

POUGHKEEPSIE – Rumors of protests in light of the Supreme Court’s overturning Roe v. Wade, Dutchess County Sheriff Kirk Imperati is increasing patrols near Catholic churches in the county.

Imperati said his office is aware of information regarding the potential of nationwide protests at Catholic churches this weekend related to the leaked court decision regarding abortion rights.

Sheriff Imperati said, “I have directed deputy sheriffs to increase patrols around Catholic churches and other houses of worship to ensure the safety of everyone and protect the Constitutional rights of all individuals.”
