DOBBS FERRY – A strike by adjunct faculty at Mercy College in Dobbs Ferry has been averted as the members of SEIU Local 200 United bargaining team have come to an agreement with the school administration.

Rank-and-file had authorized a strike for Monday had no agreement been reached and that would have impacted campus in Dobbs Ferry, the Bronx and Manhattan.

Union membership must approve the contract, the first for the union at Mercy. It includes a pay increase, tuition remission for families, a longevity and signing bonus and more stability for adjunct faculty who team on a course-by-course basis.

The membership vote will be conducted by secret ballot.
