VALATIE – One person was injured when the car they were driving ran off the road and rolled over shortly after 3 p.m. on Friday.
Columbia County NY 911 dispatched Valatie Volunteer Rescue Squad, Inc., Valatie Fire, and under automatic mutual aid Niverville Fire Department Inc. for the accident with possible entrapment. When units arrived on scene, they found one vehicle off the road that had rolled over with entrapment.
Fire units quickly went into action with removing the patient along with closing the road down. The patient was evaluated by the rescue squad and taken to the hospital.
The State Police were on scene investigating the accident with assistance from the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office.
The village water department also responded to assess damage to a fire hydrant. All units were clear and the road reopened before 5 p.m.
