KINGSTON – The Ulster County Comptroller’s Office has released a gas tax calculator that enables taxpayers to input the price paid at the pump and calculate what portion of the sale price is attributable to federal, state and local taxes.

That includes sales taxes charged on the fuel that will eventually be revenue for the county.

The gas p-rice per gallon net taxes is then used in a second tab on the calculator to estimate the foregone sales taxes given the adopt of gas tax relief by the county legislature this week.
