NEW CITY – A Rockland County Court jury Tuesday convicted a Hillcrest man of a double homicide in connection with the shooting deaths of a mother and daughter in their 104 Lake Road, Valley Cottage home on May 26, 2020.

Robert Williams III, 32, was found guilty on all charges – three counts of murder, criminal possession of a weapon and two counts of criminal contempt.

He faces a sentence of life in prison without parole.

Williams entered the home and shot and killed Kathleen Castor, 27, and 63-year-old Wanda Castor.

An active order of protection was in place for Kathleen Castor, who had a previous relationship with Kathleen Castor. Kathleen’s one-month-old baby was left in the apartment alive and unharmed.

“This senseless act of extreme violence was avoidable and resulted in a complete tragedy,” said District Attorney Thomas Walsh II. “I hope today’s guilty verdict brings some sense of justice to the Castor Family.”
