KINGSTON – State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli got a firsthand look at achievements in Ulster County’s Green New Deal recently.
County Executive Pat Ryan, DiNapoli and representatives of organized labor toured UCAT’s new electric buses, visited the nation’s first net-zero commercial bakery at Bread Alone, and toured a community solar farm in Saugerties.
“Ulster County is walking the walk when it comes to preparing for, and embracing, a greener future,” DiNapoli said.
The tour highlighted a number of the successes that the county has had through its Green New Deal plan released last Earth Day.
DiNapoli’s visit comes on the heels of the release of his report discussing the impact of green jobs in the state.
