KINGSTON – The number of single-family home sales in the first three months of the year dropped 23.7 percent from those sold in the first quarter of last year, the Ulster County Board of Realtors reported.
That could be a sign that sales are slowing down from the rapid pace they experienced during the height of the pandemic when people were fleeing north to escape the metropolitan area.
A total of 373 homes sold in the first quarter of this year compared with 489 during the same period last year.
The average selling price rose by 16.7 percent, going from $390,037 in the first three months of 2021 to $435,818 during the same period this year.
Days on the market remained the same with 61 in 2021 and 62 in 2023.
