Police identify victims of Wallkill crash

TOWN OF WALLKILL – Two drivers were injured when their vehicles crashed on Route 211 and Hidden Drive in the Town of Wallkill. Both women were being treated at Westchester Medical Center for serious injuries, Wallkill Police said.

Authorities identified the women as Faith Illenberg, 55, of Middletown and Jean Kallus, 57, of Montgomery. Both were initially trapped in their cars, but were extricated by members of the Mechanicstown and Montgomery fire departments.

Police said the crash occurred as Illenberg’s vehicle was traveling eastbound on Route 211 when it collided with Kallus’ car, which was traveling westbound on Route 211.

Town of Wallkill detectives and State Police are continuing to investigate the cause of the crash.
