LIBERTY— New York State Electric & Gas has announced that it will permanently close its Liberty walk-in office located at 26 Wierk Avenue on April 18.
The office has been closed since February 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Since then, customers could drop off payments outside the
building, but over time, more and more customers have chosen to pay their bill online, over the phone or at another location.
Customers who prefer to pay in person can visit approved pay agents near the Liberty office. A full list is included below. Payments can be made without a fee at these approved pay agents. Otherwise, customers are encouraged to pay using one of the following options:

- Online at nyseg.com
- By calling 800.600.2275 to make a phone payment using our Automated Phone
System
- By mailing a payment
- By using AutoPay to have payments automatically deducted from their bank
account each month
