New COVID positives up by 600 in Hudson Valley

MID-HUDSON – So, you think COVID-19 is a thing of the past, no need to wear masks anywhere, practice social distancing and the like. Well, you may want to think again.

In one day, Tuesday, 598 new cases of the virus were reported in the Mid-Hudson region.

There were 98 new cases in Orange County, 266 in Westchester, 57 in Dutchess and 42 in Ulster County.

Health officials are still urging people to get vaccinated. A total of 1.7 million people in the Mid-Hudson have had at least one dose, with 391 receiving their first dose on Tuesday. Over 1.5 million people have completed their vaccine series with 335 completing in the last 24 hour period for which data is available.
