Motorcyclist airlifted to hospital after serious accident

TOWN OF NEWBURGH – A crash between a motorcycle and a motor vehicle sent both operators to the hospital Monday afternoon.

The accident, on Route 300 near the Walmart store in the Town of Newburgh, brought out police, fire and EMS personnel.

The operator of the cycle was thrown from the vehicle and laying on the roadway. A medivac helicopter was flown in and landed in the Walmart parking lot where the victim was flown to Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla.

The driver of the car was transported by Town of Newburgh EMS to Montefiore St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital.

The conditions of the two injured people were not immediately known, and the cause of the accident is under investigation by Newburgh Town Police.
