ALBANY – Democratic Congressman Antonio Delgado’s campaign filed petitions with 11,131 signatures on Monday to ensure that he will appear on the ballot for the 19th Congressional District in the November election.

He is being challenged by Republican Dutchess County Executive Marcus Molinaro.

Delgado needed just 1,250 signatures; the number garnered is almost nine times that amount.

“Each and every signature delivered this week demonstrates the power of on-the-ground, grassroots support in NY-19’s upstate communities who I look forward to continuing to serve in Congress.”

As it stands now under redistricting, the 19th CD includes all of Columbia, Delaware and Greene counties, and parts of Albany, Broome, Chenango, Dutchess, Madison, Oneida, Otsego, Rensselaer, and Ulster counties.
