LAGRANGE – A 16-year-old student at Arlington High School was brutally attacked by two other students on Thursday.  The 12:30 p.m. attack was one of at least four fights that occurred in the building that day.

The Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO) is investigating the incident.  One assailant is 16-years-old and will likely be charged as an adult.  The second attacker, in the blue/green t-shirt, is 15-years-old and will likely be appearing in Dutchess County Family Court.

In videos provided to Mid-Hudson News, two teens can be seen attacking the 16-year-old victim in a flurry of punches and kicks.  The attack was unprovoked and the victim has no relation to the two assailants.

The two assailants are said to have been suspended for violating the Arlington Central School District Code of Conduct.  The victim allegedly has a class with one of the attackers but the two have never interacted prior to the incident.

Arlington Central School District Superintendent Dr. Dave Moyer did not return a call seeking comment on the attack and the recent uptick in violence at Arlington High School.

The district’s code of conduct says in part “Any student, who is found to have committed a violent act, other than bringing a firearm onto school property, shall be subject to suspension from school for durations up to five days out of school upon the authority of the principal and in excess of five days as may be determined by the Superintendent.”
