Croton-on-Hudson police force diversifies

CROTON-ON-HUDSON – The Croton-on-Hudson Police Department has hired their first black police officer, who transferred from the New Paltz Police Department.

Officer Terance Yant was announced by the village on their Facebook page on Monday, March 21.  “The Village is happy to welcome Terance Yant as our newest police officer! Officer Yant joins the Department from the New Paltz Police Department. Please be sure to say hello if you see him around the Village.”

Chief John Nikitopoulos heads the Croton-on-Hudson Police Department, which has a force of 21 full-time officers, 1 full-time parking enforcement officer, 1 full-time dispatcher, 5 part-time parking enforcement officers, 2 part-time park rangers, and 5 part-time crossing guards.
