CORNWALL-ON-HUDSON – Former Cornwall-on-Hudson Mayor Brendan Coyne has lost his bid to regain a seat on the village board. Coyne ran against two incumbents for one of two trustee positions on Tuesday, coming in third.

The two trustees, Richard Galliard and James Kane were re-elected, Kane polling 368 votes and Galliard with 341.

Coyne secured 312 votes.

Coyne lost the mayor’s slot to James Gagliano in the last election for that job.
