Troopers arrest Newburgh woman for aggravated DWI Leandra’s Law

WAWAYANDA – State Police from the Greenville barracks have arrested a 30-year-old Newburgh woman after she was stopped for driving in the wrong direction for about 15 miles on I-84 in western Orange County.

Troopers said Rosalinda Lucero entered the highway at exit 1 in Port Jervis and drove eastbound in the westbound lane until she was stopped at exit 15 (the old exit 3) New Hampton.

It was determined Lucero was impaired by alcohol and also had two children, ages eight and five, unbelted in the vehicle.

She was charged with felony DWI, aggravated DWI (Leandra’s Law) and the misdemeanor of reckless endangerment.

She was also issued 10 vehicle and traffic law citations.

She was issued an appearance ticket returnable to Wawayanda Town Court,
