NEW YORK – Donald Lemish, the Hopewell Junction man who engaged local police in a standoff at his home in February, has been terminated from his job as a Metro-North training officer.
Lemish, 51, allegedly choked a prostitute unconscious at his home and then threatened her with a gun when she came to.
“When we became aware of this incident, the employee was immediately removed from service,” said MTA spokeswoman Joana Flores.
Lemish had reportedly pointed a rifle at officers during the standoff. That weapon turned out to be an air rifle.
He was charged with menacing a police officer, strangulation, menacing, attempted assault, and unlawful imprisonment.
