Man on probation busted with drugs and guns

SOMERS – A 40-year-old Somers resident is in the Westchester County Jail on several felony gun and drug charges.  The arrest of Vincenzo Fidanza was the result of an investigation by the New York State Police and the Westchester County Department of Probation.

When law enforcement arrested Fidanza on March 1, he was found in possession of approximately 21.5 pounds of marijuana, 2.7 pounds of Psilocybin mushrooms, 246.9 grams of THC oil, 101 grams of marijuana wax, 1516.2 grams of amphetamines, 552.2 grams of alprazolam, 2.4 grams of cocaine, and 11 grams of oxycodone.  Fidanza also possessed one Romarm SA/CUGIR AK-47, one Eagle Arms Eagle-15, and one 12-gauge Mossberg shotgun in violation of his terms of probation.

The Somers man faces seven felony counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, one felony count of Criminal Possession of Cannabis, one misdemeanor count of  Criminal Possession of Cannabis, and misdemeanor Criminal Possession of a Weapon.  As a term of his current probation, Fidanza is prohibited from possessing firearms.

Fidanza was arraigned before the Honorable Judge McDermott of the town of Somers Court and remanded to the Westchester County Jail without bail.  He is scheduled to reappear on March 7, 2022, at 5:00 p.m.
