Judge McLoughlin remands Vermont murder suspect to county jail

POUGHKEEPSIE – The second man apprehended after a high-speed chase and manhunt on Wednesday, March 2nd is now in the Dutchess County Jail.  The second suspect was released on an appearance ticket earlier this week.

The second suspect was apprehended after an encounter with a police K9 and was hospitalized after the dog performed his duties.

Jerry Ramirez, age 35, of Brooklyn, the operator who was driving during the high-speed pursuit, was arrested for misdemeanor Unlawful Fleeing in a Motor Vehicle and as a Fugitive of Justice for a felony warrant out of the state of Vermont.

Ramirez was arraigned as a Fugitive of Justice before Dutchess County Court Judge Edward McLoughlin and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail without bail awaiting extradition to the State of Vermont.
