FISHKILL – A woman has sustained gunshot wounds after a domestic dispute on Sunday afternoon. The victim was taken to Montefiore St. Luke’s-Cornwall Hospital in an ambulance escorted by an MTA police unit at approximately 2:53 p.m. on Sunday.
Radio transmissions indicate that a suspect was in custody.
Town of Fishkill Police were originally dispatched to 265 Rocky Glen Road for a report of a domestic dispute between a mother and a son. While responding, the officers were advised that the son has a history of violent encounters with the police. It was also transmitted that the male subject was under the influence of drugs and alcohol on Sunday.
Fishkill police arrived on the scene and moments later radioed for additional assistance, reporting that they were involved in a physical altercation with the male individual.

Several state and local police units responded to the scene. One state trooper radioed in at 2:34 p.m. that an ambulance was needed for a female gunshot victim. A second ambulance was requested for a second victim with unknown injuries. Troopers also reported that the subject was in custody.
A police officer is said to have been injured during the altercation.
Route 52 between Red Schoolhouse Road and the BGB Mobile Home Park was closed to traffic to allow for a medevac helicopter landing zone.
The investigation is ongoing.
