MONTICELLO – Two Walden residents pled guilty in Sullivan County Court to killing two men in Swan Lake last year.

State Police had responded to Murphy Road in the Town of Bethel at about 11:20 p.m. on January 13, 2021 where they found Derek and Glenn Travis dead.

Chastity Cutway, 38, and David Host, 33, were arrested the following day.

Cutway entered her guilty plea before Sullivan County Court Judge Jim Farrell on February 8 and Host entered his guilty plea on February 15. During their allocutions, both admitted to breaking into the victims’ home and fatally stabbing them.

District Attorney Meagan Galligan called the killings “horrific” and said she will recommend at sentencing that both Cutway and Host get life in prison.

“My partners in law enforcement and I will deploy all or our resources to investigate and hold accountable those who perpetrate violence in our communities,” she said.
