Newburgh man arrested in connection with Mill Street shooting

NEWBURGH – A 25-year-old Newburgh man, wanted in connection with a February 6 shooting incident on Mill Street was arrested following a foot chase in the area of Renwick and South Clark Streets in Newburgh on Friday afternoon, February 11.

A patrol with Newburgh City Police and State Police, as part of a joint Precision Policing Initiative, resulted in the arrest of James Boursiquot. He was charged with felony burglary and weapons possession and misdemeanor drug possession and other offense after he was caught following a struggle inside a first-floor apartment he ran into on Benkard Avenue.

He had in his possession a loaded 9 mm semi-automatic handgun with a high-capacity magazine and a laser attachment.

Boursiquot was also charged with felony weapons possession offenses related to the February 6 shooting incident.
