NEWBURGH – The City of Newburgh is 0-for-2 in its efforts to attract and retain a Minor League Baseball team to Delano-Hitch Stadium, but this time, council members want to have a market and financial feasibility study conducted into developing a multi-purpose ballpark stadium.

Councilman Anthony Grice noted it will be a “huge undertaking” but worth exploring.

“There have been some other Minor League teams that have come here that have been unsuccessful. We also do understand and we want community input and we also do understand the land designation for this area and we do need programs for the kids,” he said.

Funding for the $50,000 study is included in the city’s 2022 budget.
