TOWN OF NEVERSINK – A school bus en route to Sullivan County BOCES at 11:45 a.m. on Tuesday, was struck by a Jeep Cherokee traveling in the opposite direction on Route 55 over Neversink dam.
All 18 high school students onboard and the driver were taken to Garnet Medical Center Catskill for evaluation.
The driver of the Jeep suffered several fractures and was transported to Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, State Police said.
Troopers said the accident occurred when the Jeep struck a guard rail causing it to veer into the opposite lane and strike the bus.
The investigation is continuing.
