POUGHKEEPSIE – Former Town of Red Hook Building Inspector John Fenton, arrested in 2020 for official misconduct, pled guilty to the misdemeanor charge on October 4, 2021.  At the time state police arrested him, he was also charged with receiving bribes as well as coercion.  The original story can be found HERE.

At the time of his arrest, Fenton was also employed as the building inspector for the Village of Tivoli and as building inspector, zoning enforcement officer, and DPW superintendent for the Village of Rhinebeck.  The responses from the other employers can be found HERE.

Dutchess County Senior Assistant District Attorney Melissa Pasquale prosecuted the case against Fenton.  The ADA says that the plea agreement satisfied all counts of the indictment.  Pasquale said Fenton was sentenced on December 16, 2021, and was given to three years of probation, and was required to resign from public employment.
