ALBANY – The number of new COVID-19 cases in the region declined on Thursday to 2,997, the State Health Department reported. That does not include those who tested positive with home kits.
There were also 18 additional deaths reported – one in Columbia County, two each in Rockland and Sullivan counties, three in Ulster, four in Dutchess, and six in Westchester.
Health officials continue to say the best way to prevent or minimize the effects of COVID-19 should you contract it, is to vaccinate and wear a mask.
