State Police say that 45-year-old Juan Cedillo was stabbed by 26-year-old David Trotta.  Trotta was restrained at the scene by the victim’s wife before the police arrived.  Police took him into custody around noon on Sunday.  He was charged with felony murder and misdemeanor criminal possession of a weapon.  Trotta was arraigned in the Town of Amenia Justice Court and was remanded to the Dutchess County jail without bail.

Mid-Hudson News has been told that Trotta and Cedillo were neighbors in the small apartment complex.

When police arrived at the incident on Sunday and secured the scene, EMS personnel were permitted to approach.  CPR had already begun on Cedillo before EMS took over.  A trooper radioed a 911 dispatcher asking for two additional ambulances to be sent to the scene for additional victims.  A spokesperson for the State Police told Mid-Hudson News on Tuesday that there was only one victim, Cedillo.
