LIBERTY – A 37-year-old Monticello man has been arrested by Village of Liberty Police for allegedly stealing a taxicab from a gas station on North Main Street.
The vehicle was stolen on December 28, 2021 while the driver went inside the shop. It was later located unoccupied in the Village of Monticello.
After extensive investigation, Liberty Police arrested James Slater on January 5.
He was charged with grand larceny and petit larceny.
Liberty Police were assisted by Monticello Police and the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office.
