WASHINGTON – Newburgh tattoo parlor shop owner Roberto Minuta, 37, is among over a dozen members of the Oath Keepers indicted by a federal grand jury on charges of seditious conspiracy in connection with the January 6, 2021 breach of the U.S. Capitol.

As alleged in the indictments, the Oath Keepers are a large but loosely organized collection of individuals, some of whom are associated with militias. Though the Oath Keepers will accept anyone as a member, they explicitly focus on recruiting current and former military, law enforcement, and first-responder personnel.

The indictments charge that members and affiliates of the Oath Keepers were among the individuals and groups who forcibly entered the Capitol on January 6, 2021.

Minuta, who lists an address of Prosper, Texas, is charged with being among the second group of Oath Keepers that breached the Capitol grounds and forced their way into the building.

The charge of seditious conspiracy carries a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison.
