ALBANY – Freshman State Senator Michael Martucci (R, New Hampton), announced he would seek a second two-year term in this fall’s election.

He made the announcement in an online video on Thursday.

“I vowed to root out and fight corruption and in just my first year in office we took down the corruptor-in-chief, Andrew Cuomo. I promised I would stand up for our communities, protect local jobs and promote economic growth, and on all that, I delivered,” he said.

Martucci said he worked across the aisle to keep jobs in his district.

He also said he opposed raising the gas tax, supported eliminating the property tax for seniors, and supported finding savings in the state’s Medicaid budget.
