Police arrest man on gun charges after suspicious behavior

POUGHKEEPSIE – City police arrested a man on Sunday around 10:30 a.m. on felony gun charges after responding to a report of a suspicious vehicle.  The Ohio man was taken into custody and held for arraignment.
City of Poughkeepsie Police patrol units responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle on Woodland Avenue on January 9.  The officers located the vehicle that had been reported and approached the occupant, 40-year-old Jamar Keyes, to investigate his “suspicious” activity.
The investigating officers learned that Keyes was in possession of a loaded Ruger Security 9mm semi-automatic pistol.
The subject was taken into custody and charged with felony criminal possession of a weapon.
