Town police seek witnesses to violent pawn store robbery

TOWN OF POUGHKEEPSIE – Town of Poughkeepsie police are investigating a gunpoint robbery of the Arlington Exchange, a Main Street pawnshop that occurred on Tuesday afternoon.  The shop’s owner was assaulted and sustained serious injuries during the crime.  Town police are seeking assistance in identifying the suspects.
 
A police spokesperson said that the department was alerted to a robbery in progress at the 784 Main Street pawnshop at 3:32 p.m. on Tuesday, December 28.  Arriving officers located the shop owner who stated that he had been robbed at gunpoint and assaulted by two suspects.
 
The owner sustained serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. 
 
The suspected perpetrators are described as black males, wearing all black clothing, and had their faces covered with masks.  They are asking for anyone with information regarding the violent crime to call the Town of Poughkeepsie detectives at 845-485-3670.
