BEACON – The body of a Maybrook man who jumped to his death from the Newburgh-Beacon Bridge has been recovered from the Hudson River.
State Police received a report of a man jumping off the bridge at about 9:15 a.m. on Wednesday.
The Newburgh Fire Department marine unit located the body of Lester Banta, 55, a short time later.
Police said there is no evidence of foul play.
The Dutchess County Medical Examiner’s Office assisted the State Police with the investigation.
