EAST FISHKILL – A new road is expected to alleviate traffic problems in an area of the Town of East Fishkill center near the former IBM facility.

Town Supervisor Nick D’Alessandro said it will be constructed near the new Amazon fulfillment that is under construction.

“They are giving the town a road that will connect Route 52 to I-84. It’s going to be called Patriot Way. That is adjacent to John Jay High School – that’s the home of the Patriots – so we’re naming it Patriot Way. The town is looking forward to that as the town has some traffic issues on Route 52,” he said.

Amazon is in the final stages of constructing its 670,000 square foot facility there. That is in addition to the one-million-square-foot distribution center it opened in the Town of Montgomery earlier this year.
