Man pleads guilty to 2011 murder

WHITE PLAINS – A 30-year-old Yonkers man has pled guilty to participating in the murder of a man on March 18, 2011 in White Plains.

Marcus Chambers, also known as “Chico,” “Chi D,” and “SP,” was involved in shooting death of Jonathan Johnson during an armed robbery for marijuana in White Plains.

Chambers pled guilty to robbery and faces two to 20 years in prison. He also pled guilty to conspiracy to commit robbery, which carries up to five years in prison.

Chambers and his codefendant, Darnell Kidd, murdered Johnson after Chambers arranged by phone to purchase marijuana from Johnson. When they met, the victim was shot and killed.
