SULLIVAN COUNTY – Black ice brought areas of Sullivan County to a standstill with accidents involving cars, SUVs, trucks and even municipal trucks.
On Glenn Wild Road in Rock Hill, a tractor-trailer jackknifed and skidded into a small truck.
In hilly areas of the county, vehicles that attempted to climb up roads slid backwards.
It took some time for sand and salt trucks to load up and spread their loads on the slippery roads.
The Monticello school district was closed today.
