TOWN OF POUGHKEEPSIE – The Laugh It Up Comedy Club (LIU) ended its run at the Holiday Inn on South Road after numerous issues with hotel management, said LIU owner and comedian Daniel McRitchie.  The comedy club reopened Saturday night directly across the street at the Hyatt Place at 2165 South Road in Poughkeepsie.

At Saturday night’s inaugural show in the new home, the comedians all complimented the new venue.  “It’s not a mold-infested dump like the old place was,” said one comedian.

McRitchie said “There were several issues with regard to staffing, cleanliness, and communication with the other place, and we needed to move out of there to protect our brand and our customers.”  Saturday night’s show was sold out and the Hyatt General Manager Jon Kozma was pleased with the plan to host the comedy club.  “We are very happy to have the Laugh It Up gang here at the Hyatt Place.  Dan has a great club and we look forward to a mutually beneficial partnership.”
