GOSHEN – A 23-year-old Newburgh woman pled guilty to felony assault in connection with the stabbing of another woman on Dubois Street in the City of Newburgh on June 19, 2021.

Ariana Sanchez admitted to repeatedly stabbing the woman, causing serious injuries.

Pursuant to a plea agreement, the district attorney’s office will recommend a sentence of 12 years in state prison when she is sentenced in February.

“Those who choose to use violence and weapons to settle disputes deserve lengthy state prison sentences,” said DA David Hoovler.
