POUGHKEEPSIE – A 55-year-old man was arrested on Saturday afternoon after firing a shotgun during a physical altercation on North Clinton Street in the City of Poughkeepsie. The 3:40 p.m. incident resulted in Joseph Greenfield being charged with felony reckless endangerment and misdemeanor menacing.
Multiple City of Poughkeepsie police responded to the report of shots being fired and a subject at the scene in possession of a shotgun, The officers secured the location and detained Greenfield, who was reportedly involved in the incident. Police determined that Greenfield had been involved in a fight with another person, at which time he produced a shotgun and discharged one shot.
Detectives and crime scene technicians interviewed witnesses and collected evidence at the scene. Greenfield was processed at police headquarters.
