Child injured when stray bullet enters house

POUGHKEEPSIE – A child has reportedly suffered an abrasion to the neck after a bullet entered a home on North White Street in Poughkeepsie Monday evening.  City police shut down a section of North White Street as the investigation continued after the 6:30 p.m. shooting.

 

Police responded to the area for a report of shots fired at 6:30 p.m. on December 6.  An occupant of 32 North White Street claims that a young child in the residence was injured when a bullet entered the house. Initial police communications say that a picture in the house had been struck by a bullet, shattering the glass and the child sustained an abrasion to the neck.

 

EMS was summoned to the scene to further evaluate the injury.
