Criminal charges lodged against Saugerties man in head-on crash

SAUGERTIES – A 73-year-old Saugerties man who drove his car past a stopped police vehicle with emergency lights on and a disabled vehicle on Route 9W in Glasco on Monday night, has been charged with reckless endangerment.

James Cintron’s 2019 Honda Ridgeline struck a 2017 Jeep Wrangler driven by a 16-year-old Kingston girl sending her to the hospital.

Following police investigation, Cintron was also charged with reckless driving, crossing a double yellow line in a no-passing zone, unsafe passing, and failure to keep right of oncoming traffic.

The charges were filed against Cintron in local criminal court.
