MILLERTON – State Police are investigating the cause of a house fire at 5902 Route 22 in the Village of Millerton on Saturday that claimed two lives.
The house was engulfed in flames when troopers arrived on the scene at around 8 a.m.
Seven people were staying in the house. Two had left before the fire broke out and three were able to get out before fire departments arrived.
After the fire was extinguished, two residents were found dead inside.
They were identified as Jenny Yang, 24, and 30-year-old Wangdi Tamang.
One of the residents who escaped, Amy Yang, 51, was taken to Sharon Hospital for non-life -threatening injuries.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
