Man charged with torching car on Taconic

LAGRANGE – A 27-year-old Yonkers man has been charged with felony arson for allegedly setting a car on fire on the Taconic State Parkway in the Town of LaGrange.

Luis Ramos was charged with intentionally setting fire to a 1999 Toyota Camry that was off the roadway some 80 feet from the shoulder in a wooded area.

Lagrange firefighters responded and extinguished the flames.

Ramos was located a short time later on McDonnell Road about 2 ½ miles from the fire scene. Investigation determined he intentionally set the fire on October 26 and was subsequently arrested.

He was arraigned and released on his own recognizance pending a future court appearance.
