Newburgh City Council set to censure Shakur for second time

This will be the second time the city council will have censured Shakur for his offensive language and actions

NEWBURGH – The Newburgh City Council is set to vote tonight on a resolution to censure Councilman-at-Large Omari Shakur for is “inappropriate interaction” with a lower Broadway property owner in which he “used vulgar and abusive language which included anti-Semitic references.”

The interaction, on October 20, was recorded.

This is not the first time the city council will have censured Shakur in his less than two years on the council.

He was censured once before for vulgar interactions he had with city police/
